We build what we
wanted to play.

REKT started as a couple of community game servers run for friends. It’s now a small independent group building games, developer tools, and the hosting platform underneath them.

About us

A small crew that ships.

REKT is independent and self-funded. There is no publisher, no investor deck, and no roadmap written by someone who has never played the games. Everything here exists because we needed it and nobody else had built it properly.

That’s been the pattern from the start. We wanted better community servers, so we ran them. We wanted mods the vanilla game couldn’t do, so we wrote a framework. We wanted hosting that didn’t treat players like line items, so we built the platform. And now we’re building the game we always wanted to play.

Small crew, long horizon. We’d rather ship something we’re proud of late than something forgettable on time.

  • Built in the open

A playtester recorded 30 minutes cold — no help, no wiki — got shot by things he couldn’t find, and said he wouldn’t come back. Every fresh spawn had dead guns until you pressed Escape. We’d never noticed; we press Escape constantly. That’s what the devlogs and test builds are for.

  • Own the whole stack

Game, tools, servers, storefront. Owning it end to end means we can fix things properly instead of filing a ticket.

  • Creators get to earn

Build a mod, run a server, make videos — it’s yours, and you can make money from it. We won’t take a cut or bury you in conditions.

“Modders and creators: go make money. Have fun. We don’t mind.”

No nasty EULAs, no hostile fine print, no lawyers waiting to pounce on someone who made a cool thing. A healthy modding scene isn’t a threat to a game — long after launch, it is the game.

What we do

Four things, one crew.

Each of these started as something we needed ourselves. They all still do.

REKT Game Studio

Game development

Active

Our game studio. Currently building Deep Black — a multiplayer space-survival sandbox in a procedurally generated galaxy ruled by two machine governments. Built in the open, shaped by the people playing it.

  • Unity · C# · server-authoritative multiplayer
  • Playable now — free while in development

REKT Host

Game server hosting

Live

The hosting stack we built to run our own servers, opened up to everyone else. Instant provisioning, a proper control panel, and pricing that isn’t designed to catch you out. It’s also the no-Linux-required way to run a Deep Black server.

  • Rust · 7 Days to Die · Minecraft · ARK · Project Zomboid
  • EU hardware · 24-hour trials available

REKT Forge

Plugin & mod marketplace

Coming soon

A marketplace for server plugins and mods, built around a leasing licence model — you keep every version you paid for, forever, and stay subscribed only while you want the updates. Fair to the people who buy, fair to the people who build.

  • Rust & 7 Days to Die first, multi-game by design
  • Creator earnings, payouts, and support built in
Launching soon

Styx

Modding framework

In use

Our own server-side C# modding framework for 7 Days to Die. Hot-reloading plugins, a permission system, localisation, in-game UI — everything the vanilla game can’t do, running server-side with nothing to install client-side.

  • Server-side only · no client mods required
  • Self-hosted distribution & auto-update

REKT Game Studio

Deep Black

A multiplayer space-survival sandbox in a procedurally generated galaxy ruled by two machine governments.

Spawn with nothing. Scrape together a ship, build a base, and decide what kind of spacer you are — trader, builder, pirate, or the reason someone else logs off angry. Everything is persistent, everything is at stake, and nobody is coming to save you.

Every ship you fly can be lost. Every base can be found. Your first jump out of the nursery brands you a deserter, and it never washes off.

  • Two machine governments — the Authority and the Nostoi each read real intelligence and issue real orders. Patrols, crackdowns, bounties on named pilots. Nobody scripted it, and a lot of what they’re reading is you.
  • A war with a front line — every system is held or contested, and a judge rules on control every half hour from wings on station, installations standing, and blood spilled.
  • Hidden bases that can be found — build with modules, power, shields and upkeep, then hide the whole thing behind a veil that leaks if you get greedy.
  • Consequences that stick — die and your cargo becomes a wreck on the map with a clock on it. Log out in a fight and your ship lingers 45 seconds without you.
  • Open to modders — drop a compiled C# DLL in your server’s mods/ folder and it runs at boot. The server is authoritative and there’s no anti-cheat to fight, so a server-side mod reshapes the game for vanilla clients.

v0.8.11 In development for Windows, free while it’s early. There’s a public Open Frontier server running right now, or forge a private galaxy offline. Ten devlogs so far — read the lot.

A capital ship on approach to an Authority station, lit by a blue nebula.

From the current build

Captured from the current development build — running, not mocked up. Ship and station models are still placeholder.

Growth

From two servers to four products.

The order things happened in matters more than the numbers. Every product on this page came out of a problem we hit while running the last one.

01

We ran servers

Community Rust and 7 Days to Die servers in the EU. Active admins, handpicked quality-of-life mods, less grind.

02

We needed better tools

Nothing existing did what we wanted server-side, so we wrote Styx and started building our own plugins.

03

We built the platform

Running the hosting stack for ourselves meant we could open it up properly — REKT Host and REKT Forge.

04

Now we make games

Everything we learned running other people’s games goes into building our own.

History

How we got here.

  1. 2024

    REKT is founded

A couple of EU community game servers, run for friends, on the principle that grinding isn’t the fun part. “Less grind, more fun” sticks as the rule.

  2. 2025

    The community grows

More servers, more games, and a Discord that turns into the place everything actually gets decided.

  3. Early 2026

    Styx

We start writing our own server-side C# modding framework for 7 Days to Die, because nothing else could do what we wanted without asking players to install anything.

  4. June 2026

    REKT Host goes live

The hosting platform we’d been running privately opens to the public at rekt-host.com — instant provisioning, real control panel access, and 24-hour trials.

  5. June 2026

    REKT Forge is built

A plugin and mod marketplace with a leasing licence model, built so creators get paid properly and buyers never lose what they’ve paid for.

  6. 2026

    Deep Black

The studio’s first original game moves into serious development. Persistent instanced galaxy, full base builder, and an AI war running across the map. Public playtests begin.

  7. Today

    Heads down

Full focus on the studio and the platforms — building the game, and the tools that make running one bearable.

Community

Discord is the front door.

Devlogs, test builds, bug reports, and the arguments that decide what gets built next. Two servers — one for the game, one for everything else.

Deep Black

Devlogs, changelog, the live news wire from the Frontier server, modding and server-hosting help. This is where the game happens.
